hello!! i found your website while scrolling through nekoweb and i'm in love with the layout! i really like how only the center elements scroll and everything else like the background remains static... makes everything so much more fluid in my opinion. if you see this, could you give me some tips on how to get started with my own website? it's been something that i've wanted to figure out for a while now but i've found it a little hard to find resources on the topic (especially ones that are gen AI free
)

hii thank you for dropping by!
as far as getting started with your own website, i think the most important thing is having something you want to make a page about. for me, i knew one of the pages i wanted to have was one to display my figurines! imo having something you want to write about or show off or even just an interest you're really into is helpful for having a "base" to build your site on, if that makes sense?
the other thing i like saying that is unfortunately rather nonspecific is to just get your stuff on the page even if you aren't 100% sure how to achieve the look you want or are afraid of not knowing the best way to do it. look all over the place for inspiration, not just other websites. i like looking at poster design for layout inspiration!
to be honest, i didn't really follow any guide in specific for how to make my site as a whole, so i don't really know good places to start if that's what you're looking for. my process usually involves making chunks of a page and looking up tips for very specific aspects of that page, like how to make a tab system or button styling. some web development forums are still good for looking for genAI-free advice like that. i also like using mozilla developer docs or w3 schools for quick reference.
i think personal website are living documents that grow with the webmaster, so its fine and even expected that not everything is perfect on the first try! best of luck on your own site, and if you have more specific questions, i'd be happy to answer them!
